Steve Zimmerman: Lead Trainer
Steve Zimmerman is the founding Principal of Spectrum Nonprofit Services and a nationally recognized nonprofit strategy and finance consultant. He specializes in helping community-based organizations align mission impact with financial sustainability and is the co-author of The Sustainability Mindset and Nonprofit Sustainability: Making Strategic Decisions for Financial Viability. Steve works with nonprofits across the U.S. to strengthen business models, financial decision-making, and long-term viability, drawing on his background in accounting and broadcast journalism.

Vernetta Walker
Vernetta Walker is CEO and Chief Governance Gladiator of Vernetta Walker & Associates Consulting and a nationally recognized expert in nonprofit governance and leadership. Formerly Chief Governance Officer and Senior Advisor on DEI at BoardSource, she brings more than two decades of experience helping organizations strengthen boards, advance equity, and maximize mission impact. Vernetta teaches nonprofit governance at Columbia University and has advised hundreds of organizations, foundations, and associations across the U.S. and globally.

Dana Britto
Dana Britto is the Founder and Principal of Cultivar Consulting and brings over 18 years of experience strengthening nonprofit financial strategy, infrastructure, and leadership capacity. She has served as a consultant, lender, and board treasurer and is a trusted advisor to organizations advancing equity and systems change. Previously, Dana held senior leadership roles at BDO FMA and the Nonprofit Finance Fund, where she led major initiatives, delivered financial coaching, and managed multimillion-dollar loan and grant programs nationwide.

Ruth McCambridge
Ruth McCambridge is Director of Content at Nonprofit Financial Commons and a former longtime editor-in-chief and founder of the premier national civil society publication, Nonprofit Quarterly. Her background is in social change, community organizing, and nonprofit organizational development. Ruth’s work has consistently focused on issues of racial, economic, and gender justice, most often in a variety of primarily grassroots organizations. Her work has always consciously centered on the building of strong nonprofit organizations directly and actively guided by their constituents/members, and it always included that intensive hands-on mix of organizing, management, fundraising,
speaking, advocacy, and publishing so familiar to nonprofit leaders.

Peter Farstad
Peter Farstad is the founder of Nonprofit Financial Acumen, LLC, a seasoned nonprofit finance executive with more than 30 years of experience, including serving as CFO, CAO, and interim CEO of LifeSource. He has led complex financial operations, served on numerous nonprofit boards and finance committees, and is widely respected for his practical, accessible teaching style. Peter also spent 14 years as a graduate-level instructor in nonprofit financial management, mentoring the next generation of nonprofit leaders.
